Friends 21st- Music video to Taylor Swift's Shake it Off

Hello lovelies, So for the past three weeks me and my friend have been busy putting together this surprise music video for one of our best friends 21st Birthday. We managed to get all the people she loved together in one big video and gave everyone bits of the song to lip sync. We decided on one of our friends favourite songs 'Shake it Off', and it is the perfect song to get people dancing too. We kept it a secret all along and had to sneakily film parts of the video whenever we got the chance, it was very exciting but it did begin start to take over my life, listening to Taylor swift on repeat and ideas for the video whizzing around my head. When we showed her the final video I think she nearly shed a tear with happiness and it was great to see, after keeping it a surprise for so long. I have watched it about 50 times already and it just never gets old..

Have a watch and hopefully it will put a smile on your face as it does to me everytime I watch:)
let me know what you think?

XMAS WISHLIST | MAKEUP

Hellooo, I've been slacking recently but I'm back and my god these weeks have gone fast..its nearly Christmaaaas and I am definitely getting into the festive spirit!
My mum has recently asked me what I wanted gift wise and my immediate thought was makeup(I can't help it) I am constantly seeing new products I am desperate to try them..but with little money and being a student I have resisted. So, I thought I would share some of the makeup that I have been lusting after ...

1. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

I love finding new foundations and I have been using Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation for a while now, and although it does the job I really wanted to find a foundation that is more natural looking and this one has amazing reviews, saying it gives such a flawless look. Being quite pricey at £36, it would be the ideal treat from Santa.

2. Charlotte Tillbury- Film star Killer Cheekbone Set: Bronze and Glow
The Beauty world has gone slightly contour crazy, with people wanting to re-create Kim Kardashian's famous sculpted face, I too have decided to jump on the band wagon and I am intrigued to see if contouring really does work. Charlotte Tillbury, who is a famous makeup artist for the stars brought this filmstar set out and I am dying to try it. Just look at the packaging, it oozes glamour and luxury and will look beautiful on my dresser.

3. Charlotee Tillbury- Lip Cheat:Pillow Talk and Lipstick:Bitch Perfect

The other Kardashian always in the media is Kylie Jenner, with lots of debate about her lips, are they fake? Is it just lip liner? Who cares, they look good and everyone wants to achieve this fuller lip. One product which is frequently mentioned is the lip cheat Pillow Talk, the perfect 'your lips but better' shade. I use lip liner and have to say they really do enhance your lips, they make your lipstick last longer and just overall add more definition to your lips. I have a feeling this will be my go-to lip product in the future. Again the packaging is soo pretty, I want all of Charlotte Tillbury's range!

4. Anastasia Beverley Hills- Dipbrow Pomade

I don't know if I am slow, but I recently found this brand on Instagram as I had seen a few people tag this product when it came to eyebrows. It seems to be a cult beauty buy and I really cool new way to transform eyebrows. Being a big eyebrow person I am keen to get my hands on these so I can see if they live up to the hype. They also come in a whole host of colours to suit everyone's shade.

5.Mac Pigments

Who doesn't love glitter!? It makes me so excited and I wish I could wear glitter on my face everyday, if only it was acceptable :( But as we are getting into the Christmas party season glitter is the perfect way to glam up an outfit. All of these shades are to die for and would look amazing on the eyes,

I hope you liked this post and I have given you guys some Makeup inspiration. If anyone has tried these products I would love to hear your thoughts?

Sunday QOTD

Hellooo, I feel I have been slack with these quotes lately so I'm back to give you a little quote this Sunday evening...

I think this quote is so true in life, as you shouldn't have to chase people be it friends, family, or in relationships. If you feel like you are the one always making the effort, then something isn't right. It should be natural and people will choose to stay in your life if they want to. I feel I need to take this quote on board myself as I too can be guilty of trying to keep past relationships alight when they are well and truly gone and I should just move on with my life. Life is too short and you should surround yourself with all your true friends and family and if that ponytail ain't working. Just leave it.

Hope you liked this post! Now I'm off for a quiz and a curry woo (love Sunday nights)

6 reasons why I love Halloween

eeeek I love Halloween, its one of my favourite celebrations so I just had to write a post about it, even if it is two weeks away! We are also hosting a Halloween Pres at our Uni flat on the night so this will sure get me in the mood.

1. Fancy Dress
I absolutely love dressing up and I am one of those people who likes to go all or out and be creative with what I have, rather than spending a fortune on a ridiculous costume. I think its all about the little touches. Normally I like to go scaryish with my costume but this year I am being a tiger(bit random). I just love doing exciting makeup so with this I get to attempt tiger face paint and go a bit zoo project-esque on the body. I also have black contacts from last year. I may do a post on my outfit and face so you can see how it turned out!
How cool is this skeleton face paint!

2.Pumpkins.
I love the smell, the childhood memories they bring back, scraping the pumpkin seeds out of the bottom (is this weird?) Each year I get so excited to buy one and come up with a creative design to carve out and doing it with a group of your friends is always great fun.

3. Horror movies.
Name any horror film and I have probably seen it, Psycho, Halloween, The Conjuring, I am a horror movie kind of girl especially around this time of year. Surprisingly it is one of my fave film genres, I dunno what it is about being scared so much that I like, I think it is the adrenaline high! I'm desperate to watch the newly released 'Annabelle' at the cinema, will have to drag one of my friends to come watch it with me.
Has anyone seen this film? let me know

4.  Autumnal weather.
The weather has definitely changed recently, there is a nip in the air and I like the fashion that comes with it. Autumn introduces layering and wrapping up and most importantly scarves, loads of scarves, especially tartan! I am obsessed with that pattern.
looove my new scarf from new look

5. Candy.
I'm not American no, but I feel candy sums up the category of sweets and chocolate pretty well and if like me, as a child you went trick or treating annually then you will remember the endless amounts of sweets and chocolate that comes with Halloween. So now technically an adult and too old to go trick or treating (cry) I will have to stock up on lots of candy all for myself just cause its Halloween.

6. Parties.
Who doesn't love a Halloween party!? Alcohol, face paint and all my uni mates together, it couldn't get better. Having it at ours also means we have an excuse to decorate the flat all Halloween themed, better get shopping...
This is the goal

Hope you liked this post!

Leather and fur

Helooo, two things I love and have recently bought: leather and fur, one being a bag and one being a collar. Okay so technically the bag is not leather and not real (I wish) but I think its a great dupe for the celine 'smile' bag.

So I’ve been hunting for a black bag for a while now and normally would go to Zara as I love the bags in there but I looked and none of them were what I was looking for. So I came across a blog post and it happened to be about the perfect dupe for a celine bag from none other than amazon! If you are not familiar with celine bags they are literally bag heaven, but with the hefty price tag and me being a poor student are only something I can lust at from my computer screen, but the bag from amazon was only £20! This being within my price range and with excellent reviews I thought I would buy it and I am so glad I did! Its great quality and the right size so that I can use it for Uni and it really is so similar in style to the celine. wooo

I also bought this fur collar, I love fur in the winter I think it adds something to a jacket or coat and seen as though I lost my fur collar for my leather jacket I thought I would invest in one which I can wear with my leather jacket but also my black winter coat.. fab times! From new look at around £10 it is so soft and warm and I just want to wear it with everything haha

I hope you liked this post!

SUNDAY QOTD-back to reality

Another week has gone by and after a week of non-stop going out(this needs to stop) I am all snuggled up in my Uni bed with my fairy lights on ready for some sleep! I'm quite sad as I feel tomorrow is truly back to reality with a full week of lectures and actually having to think about my future(nooo)I have had such a fun two weeks not having to think about anything, with the hardest decision being what I was going to cook that evening. I wish Uni only consisted of going out all the time and having fun, but that's life and a detox is definitely in order. I'll let you know how it goes next week.. I am deffo still a fresher at heart and do not want to accept I am a third year. So its not a quote this week, I just liked this picture and it really sums up how I am feeling

I feel this is a bit of a depressing post as I do have lots of fun things to look forward to aswell, like for one thing 21st's, everyone is turning the big 2 1 this year and who doesn't love an excuse to dress up all fancy. I have one coming up in a few weeks however this one is fancy dress and I am going as a troll doll..pictures will be posted.

MY FAVE FAKE TAN

Hellooo, its been a while! It seems Uni has already taken over my life and going out all the time has really put a pause on the blogging! But I'm back and after all my nights out it has led me to find the most perfect fake tan!

I am an avid tanner and I live by the quote 'Life is better with a tan'. it just is. Now we have moved into autumn this is something I definitely had to invest in. I have tried many fake tans over the years and none compare to this one: XEN TAN absolute dark luxe. Don't be scared by the ultra dark label as it comes out a gorgeous olivey brown and definitely not orange like some other products. It is really easy to apply I use a tanning mitt, put it on the night before and and the next morning you just wash it off in the shower and you are left with a streak free 'just come back from holiday' tan. The price tag is pretty hefty but I bought mine from feel unique for £24.99, so less expensive than boots which sells it for nearly £10 more! It also lasts a really long time about 5 days and fades evenly. If anyone is looking for a really good fake tan than go try this I promise its good :)

UNI ROOM TOUR

So this is exciting I'm all moved into my new uni flat for 3rd year and I've been reunited with all my uni gals :) I thought I would share some pics of my uni room as I do love it and have tried to make it as pretty and homely as possible! It is quite a small room, I got the short straw but I am happy with how it looks and I'm excited to live in it now.

I love how cosy my fairy lights make my room!

A close up of some items:

Picked this fancy glass up from Primark for £2.50- great pre-drink cup! I also couldn't resist the pink glitter
Made this cute pug picture just by printing off the photo from the internet and buying a cheap ikea frame- I think it looks quite effective
love my Cheshire babe mug that my mum got from the hollies farm shop
old photo frames and 3 candles: love candle from next, Yankee candle that smells of krispy creme donuts (incredible) from Debenhams and the far pink one from Primark for £1.50!
My organised makeup storage which is great for all my lippies and this was pretty cheap from ebay!
I also bought this cute jewellery stand from ebay, think it may be a bit crowded though

Made both these frames to fill up my room and they are all filled with so many memories
Plant pot from Ikea that I turned into a stationary holder and a love heart from Dunelm
And finally my cushions which I think tie in with my bedding really nicely and I especially love the middle one its so pretty!

I hope you like what I have done with my room,
Let me know what you think in the comments below?

Things you will learn at Newcastle University

1.  Trebles are everything
Treble bars have become somewhat of standard procedure for most student night outs. You can buy 3 trebles for a fiver, yes you heard right £5! Amazing right? you won't feel so amazing the next day when your hangover takes over but hey it was fun at the time.

2. Northerners are great
I think its true what they say, northerners are definitely a friendly bunch and there's just something extra special about the Geordie accent, it makes me so happy. I love it.

3.  Weekends: Beware of the locals
Be warned, at the weekends the locals come out in full force and this means hen and stag do's galore, they are everywhere! I would suggest sticking to weekdays.

4. So many new terms
'why aye', 'canny', 'howay' and 'toon', are just some of the new vocabulary you will come across during your time at Uni.

5. Flares will become your favourite place
Cheesy not your thing? Well let this be the exception, after the trebles this is the place to come, a retro 70's bar that look's pretty tacky but oh it is so much fun! The funky decor comes with a flashing dance floor, stripper poles and disco ball what's not to love? You will be grooving around the dance floor to 'C'est l' Vie'in no time.

6. Your accent will be mocked (applies to any Uni)
No matter how much of a normal accent you think you may have prior to University, someone somewhere will find a way to mock it, but don't worry you can always mock theirs back.

7. Geordie's love Gregg's
There is literally a Gregg's on every street, now don't get me wrong I do love a good chicken bake, and it tastes even more incredible after a night out(there's a 24 hour Greggs!) but two shops on the same street, really??

8. Hangover days are write off days.
and that's ok. Nothing productive ever gets done and I've learnt to accept that. The best thing to do is watch movies and eat lots and lots of junk food and don't feel guilty as when you are hungover it doesn't count?

9. Napping is key
If you haven't already mastered the beautiful art of napping, University is the time! Having to make those awful 9ams and going out 24/7 makes for a tired student. What with all the free time in between there is always time to perfect your napping skills.

10. The most important item in your wardrobe
The onsie! I could literally live in my onsie all the time, and would if they were acceptable to wear for lectures, sadly they are not. They are a must have in any students wardrobe, especially when you are living in a cold uni house in winter and someone refuses to put the heating on.

11. They will always be someone you can go out and party with.
Always

I adore Newcastle and this post has made me even more excited about returning to Uni on Saturday eeeek.

Sunday QOTD

Hello, so its that time of the week again, I like posting a quote on Sunday's as it gives you a great mindset for the week ahead and keeps you feeling positive! Also this time next week I will be in my new Uni flat..exciting!!

I thought this quote was quite suited to my current position as I'm going into my final year at University and the dreaded word of future starts cropping up and life after Uni which is not something I am looking forward to :(

I don't really have my life figured out but this quote tells me I'm not alone so I can take some comfort in this.I need to realise that my twenties should be all about experiencing life and enjoying things, we have the rest of our life to worry and figure everything out. Well at least until after freshers...

FOTD | How much is my face worth!?

Helloo, so this tag has been around a while but I've always wanted to do it, so why not? I'm so interested to find out how much my face is worth although I'm probably in for a shock.

I don't really have an 'everyday' makeup look as I am constantly changing it up depending on my mood so I just decided to do it on a day when I was going out and use that makeup.

I kinda went for a kylie Jenner inspired look today so I apologise for the pouty pictures! I love the nude lip look so I went for a darker lip today using my new Nyx lip liner in Coffee!

(sorry the photo's are not that great quality)

My Makeup:
Collection 2000 concealer £4.19
Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes £25.50
Rimmel Wake me up foundation £8.99
Naked 2 Palette £37
MUA Bronzing Powder £1
Clarins Bronzing Duo £28
Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara £22.50
Bobbi Brown Gel Liner £18
Nyx LiP liner £3.50
Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick in Woodrose £19.50

Total: £140.18!!

Woah. Okay that is ALOT of money, I have one pricey face! Haha! It does seem a bit ridiculous but Makeup is the one thing in my life that I like to splurge my money on and I enjoy buying luxury items now and again.I don't think I will change my ways but it was fun to do this and interesting to find out.

Hope you liked this post and comment below if you know how much your face is worth, would love to know?

Fresher's Survival Guide

Ah its September! As its the month of new beginnings and the start of many people's University life I thought I would share my thoughts for all you freshers out there.

my little freshers fam- miss this

The summer has flown by and now it’s the time of year again where nervous freshers pack their life away into little boxes, anxiously counting down the days until they fly the nest and live away from home for the first time. The prospect can be daunting, Am I ready? what if no one likes me? What if I don’t get on with the people in my flat? Just like you I had all these questions whizzing around my head but don’t worry by the end of the week I’m sure all these worries will have disappeared. Looking back it is scary that two years ago I was in the exact same position and now I’m heading back to Newcastle to be a THIRD year (I’m so old) :(

I can’t tell you how quickly it goes, far too quickly for my liking but trust me when I tell you these will be some of the best years of your life, so you got to make the most of it!

Here are some pointers to get you through freshers week:

Packing:

It’s all about home comforts. University rooms can be very basic and dreary so it is better to over pack with lots of photos(remember blu-tac and pins), cushions and pretty things to fill up your walls and make it feel as homely as possible. Fairly lights are super pretty and can really make your room feel cosy and special on those cold winter nights.

Other few essentials people may forget

·         Fancy Dress! And I don’t mean go out and buy ridiculously expensive costumes, gather together bits you may have at home, a school tie, old dresses, animal ears, just be creative. Fancy dress will be the dress  code at some point in your University years especially during freshers week, so be prepared and get involved, IT’S FUN!
·         Loo Roll- this may seem obvious but it’s better to have a big stash in your room, then going to the loo to find it has all gone
·         Painkillers-to help with the dreaded hangovers or if you are just feeling under the weather.
·         Plasters! I went through soo many of these in my first year after cutting myself with a sharp knife and grating myself with the cheese grater.. silly fresher.
·         Pasta and I am talking the massive 3kg bags you can buy from supermarkets, they last FOREVER and it will be your basic food staple if like me you are lazy and love some carbs
·         Printer-The ones at Uni charge quite a lot and it’s so much easier printing out lecture notes at home or the coursework you did last minute, then walking all the way into Uni to find a printer.
·         Tupperware boxes-these are so useful for taking lunch into Uni or even storing leftover food that you can freeze for another day.
·         Full length mirror- I was lucky and had one in my room but check with your halls first to see what is provided. I brought one with me for second year as how can you live otherwise, never knowing what your bottom half looks like.
·         Vodka and Shot glasses- You are better finding cheap drinks deals in your local supermarket and stacking up before you go, rather than succumbing to the expensive yet ideally located corner shops- this will save you money in the long run and what’s better than breaking the ice than over a drinking game.

Freshers week:

·         Remember: Everyone is in the same boat
You may have heard this one a lot but it is very true and you have to remember that whatever you are feeling, the person waiting in line next to you is probably feeling just as nervous. Don’t be afraid to start up conversations with strangers, they will be very glad you did and you never know what may become of it. I bonded with a girl in my halls as we were both struggling to control our umbrellas in the rain and wind, we ended up walking together and then realised we were both on the same course, she is one of my closest friends at University now.

·         Be Friendly
When you are unpacking, keep your door wedged open you will look more inviting and welcoming to people who arrive. I remember when I walked into my flat there was a boy who came out of his room, he was very nice and immediately put me at ease. Make effort with your flat mates to get to know them, you will be living with them for a year after all. But this brings me onto my next point..

·         Be Open Minded
You will meet a lot of people from all over the country, from all different cultures and this is one of the best things about Uni ,you will become great friends with people who you wouldn’t necessarily have met before. At the same time there will be people who you do not get along with and that is ok. Not everyone is going to get on in life, so do not fret if you are not besties with your flat mates, you will find like-minded people.

·         Go to fresher’s fair
Join a society or a few, I made the mistake of not joining any societies until second year and wish I had only joined sooner! It allows you meet people with similar interests and you make so many new friends! Then there’s the crazy socials and the fancy dress, I’ve never dressed up so much in my life.

·         Anti-climax
Some people say freshers week is the best week of your life, and although people have different experiences, having spoken to many students we all agreed that although it was fun, it definitely wasn’t the best nights or time of our first year. So if you have a bad experience in freshers, it will get better.

·         40% pass
Now some people may not agree with this, you are at University to get a good degree after all, but I urge you to not take first year too serious! First year does not count towards your degree and you only need 40% pass, which is not a lot. So take all the opportunities that come your way, meet lots of new people, have some fun, get drunk, dance all night and eat cheesy chips until your hearts content. You are only young once.

·         Explore
Explore the city or town where you will be living for the next couple of years. Listen to advice from older students to the best hotspots in town- they know!

So as the quote goes you only regret the things you don’t do, so go and do everything you possibly can do at University and enjoy it as you will never have as much free time whilst living with all your friends again.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, I really enjoyed writing it and reminiscing on my first year and what a fab year I had. Obviously this is just my point of view and everyone will have a different experience.

Is anyone a newbie fresher out there? Or experienced similar things as a fresher like me?

Sunday QOTD

This quote is so true, I think its easy to overlook the little things as people put more and more emphasis on the 'big things' in life but life is made up of moments and its these small moments that really add up. We need to appreciate the little things such as a hug from our loved ones or a phone call with a friend as these are the things we will miss when they are gone.
I think I will do a post later this week on all the little things that make me happy :)

Sunday QOTD

A more light-hearted addition to my quotes but this one just makes me lol and I love it, definitely my new life motto.

Everyone wants a Kim Kardashian booty(including me) so you gotta work for it by doing those squats. I went to a gym class the other week, and the instructor made us squat to the song ‘bring sally up bring sally down”, if you are not familiar with this song its VERY repetitive and basically repeats the same words over and over. We had to squat down every time it said “bring sally down” and my god did this hurt!

As you know I am a firm believer that a swipe of red lippy can instantly make you feel and look amazing, try it! And finally don’t let boys be mean to you!! Great advice.

Hope this quote cheered up your sunday :)

London Haul

I tried to keep my spending to a minimum whilst I was in London but it was hard as everything in the shops was just so pretty, especially the makeup, which I seem to have a never-ending wishlist for at the moment. Here our my buys:

Mac Lipstick- Up the amp(left)
                     Relentlessly Red(right)

I am in love with these colours!! I had been eyeing up, 'Up the Amp' for a while now as I like the purpley shade as it looked a bit different and I am pleased to say it looks great on too. The other shade is called 'relentlessly red', the name is quite misleading as I would say it was more pink than red toned but its a fab bright colour and can't wait to wear this on a night out!

Bobbi Brown -Black Gel Liner
I am so happy to say this is finally mine as I find this gel liner so much easier to apply than a pen liner and you only need a tiny amount so I think it will go along way.

Black Jacket- H&M
As I have work experience next week I needed a jacket to wear that was a little more formal and this one is a great short style and wasn't too expensive either!

Black and White Striped Crop Top- H&M

As I lover of crop tops I think this striped piece is very versatile and could be dressed down in the day and then in the evening team it with a black leather skirt and some heels and you are good to go! It is a lovely material with a high neck and a bargain at only £15.
